Avoiding Intersection Collisions

On my way to work this morning I approached the intersection of Francisco Street and Richardson Avenue (U.S. 101). The light was red so I stopped. When the light turned green I did not go. As a personal injury attorney my first though was about the people I have represented who have been badly injured by red light runners in San Francisco. When my light turned green, instead of hitting the gas pedal, I first looked to my left. I saw that the commute traffic coming off of Highway 101 from the Golden Gate Bridge had stopped in all lanes. It was safe to go. Looking to the left took about 1 second. This simple act may save you and your passenger’s life. Intersection collisions can occur at high speeds and are often fatal. Remember “Green Does Not Mean Go In San Francisco.” Green means look to your left and proceed with caution.
